Boruto POV
Since the morning, I could think of nothing other than the dream I had. When I woke up, my eye had changed into something white in colour
I went to the academy and tried not to think about it.
"What a drag! I just hope we don't have to work that much as Genin."
"Hey Shikadai. Must be fun turning into a genin" I said obviously, knowing that he did not want to do this.
We kept on talking with each other until Shino sensei arrived. I wished to not end up on Sarada's team, but guess what? Luck was not on my side, and I was on her team along with Mitsuki. I mean, he is fine, but sometimes he acts weird. To be honest, not sometimes, but always.
"Good luck handling her, Boruto." Shikadai said while he keeps his one hand on my shoulders.
"Yeah. The same can be said for you." I said this when I looked behind him to see Chocho scolding Inojin. He turned back and looked at me again. "Yeah. Bye." "Bye."
We had our introduction with big brother Konohamaru—I mean Konohamaru SEnsEI.
I came back to the classroom to get my things. I saw Sarada trying to search for something. I saw a pouch lying on the floor. 'Maybe it's her pouch?!' I thought while I kept it on her backside and ran out of the window.
I knew I had to talk about my dream with someone. But I didn't know who I should talk with. We had our final test, and I knew we had to do it as a team because that is the only thing we have not been tested on that frequently. Of course, since we will be known as a team, we should have teamwork.
Maybe I can talk about this with my team and let them know the idea of the test.
Sarada POV
"A test, huh??" "What is it, Sarada?" "We have our test tomorrow. If we passed our academy, then why another test? What is still left to test in us?" I questioned my mom while I helped her with cooking. "Well, that's for you to understand," my mom replied with a smile.
We were tested in every field except one, "Teamwork!!!!" I gasped when I found out. "Teamwork is the only thing we are left to be judged on.The test is 100% about teamwork!!" My mom's smile was all it took for me to understand that I was right.
'I will tell them tomorrow.' I thought. While I went into my room to plan out the strategies we could use to pass the test, I heard a knock on my window.
"Boruto, Mitsuki, what are you two doing here?" I asked while opening my window. "Well, we found out the reason for the test, so we thought that we could plan out the strategies together...." Boruto replied while Mitsuki just gave an awkward smile.
"I found it as well. I was planning out the strategies so that I could share them with you. But there is something known as a door; idiot, try using that." Boruto just laughed it off.
We had started planning our strategies and were ready for the test tomorrow.
"Dinner is ready, everyone. Come downstairs." I heard my mom shout. 'She knew.' I thought.
"Mom, how did you know there was someone in my room?" I asked while coming downstairs.
"Well, I did sense their chakra. Come on, boys, have dinner with us." She shrugged her shoulders while she was putting the plates on the table.
We all ate our dinner, and they both went back home after we had discussed it for some time.
"Sarada, I don't know if you noticed or not. But something is wrong with Boruto." 'So, it's not just me who thought he was acting weird.' "I did, mom. I think I should go and talk to him once."
"I will talk to Hinata as well." My mom said, and I nodded. We both went into our rooms after I told mom that I would talk to Boruto early in the morning about this.
NEXT MORNING
I woke up when I heard my mom chatting with someone. "....... Yes, I'll talk with him." "Good morning, mom. Oh, Aunt Hinata. It's a pleasure to see you." "Good morning, Sarada." I looked at my mom giving her a 'Why is she here' look to which she replied, "I was just talking to Hinata about Boruto only." "Well, I might have to rush a little. We decided to have a practice." "Good luck for today."
I went to the Uzumaki house. "Hi Hima. Is your brother here?" "Yes, big sister. Come in." She always had a smile on her face. If being so cute was illegal, she would have a death sentence for it.
I went up to his room and entered without knocking on the door. "Hima- oh, it's you. What are you doing here?" Idiot asks me. "I don't have time for beating around the bush. Tell me what's wrong." I ask him straight forward. There are a lot of things I hate the most. And beating around the bush tops it. His eyes widen at my question, but he straightens himself. "Nothing is wrong with me." I go closer to him, and he moves backward. His leg collides with the bed, and he sits on it. I stand in front of him. "Yesterday, after sensei called you more than five times, you heard him. You started to blank out more than you usually do. Whenever you used to sleep in class, you always jerked up while gasping. Tell me, does it show that you're fine?"
He looks down and then looks up with a teasing smile. I squinted my eyes, trying to figure out why he was smiling while I was talking about such a serious topic. He gets up and brings his face close to mine. I am not him, and I will not back off. I straighten my posture while he keeps coming near my face with that smile. 'Oh, how much I want to tear it off his face.' "So, this means you keep an eye on me to know this much about me...." My eyes widened when I realized what he meant.
"Well.... I... meant... that something was wrong. Your mom came to my house. I am worried about your mom, not you." I put my hand on his chest to push him away while I could not even maintain eye contact with him. He smirked. SMIRKED. This bit-.
"We will be late for our test, Mr. Uzumaki. Let's get going." I started to move towards the door when I heard him say, "Wait!!! Let's go together!!" I turn back and say, "Well, then get your ass up and let's leave."
"Bye, Hima, we will be leaving now." "Byeeeee." I waved her back and started going towards the training ground. "If she did not share the same eye color as you, I would never think of you both as siblings." I started walking faster. Why? Because he was breathing way too loudly, and it annoyed the fuck out of me. "Hey.... what do you mean by that?" He questions me while he runs behind me. "It means you look ugly." I screamed the word ugly to make sure he heard it.
FEW HOURS LATER
I was panting heavily due to the heavy exercise we did. "Well.... you all pass." Sensei said while giving us a closed-eye smile.
We all looked at each other and smiled. "Well then, sensei. I will take my leave if there is nothing else we need to do." "Yeah, you all can go now. Tomorrow, meet me here by 7:30 a.m." We all agree and leave. I rushed home because I didn't want to see his idiotic face at the moment.
We all started to leave and go back home. I wanted to actually talk with someone, but I refused to talk, at least for now. I reach home when Hima suddenly hugs me. "MOM, BIG BROTHER IS BACK HOME." "Welcome back, Boruto... How was your day?" mom asks me while smiling.
"It was nice, mom. Our team passed." I reciprocated the smile. "I knew you would pass. Now hurry up and get ready to eat dinner." I walk up to my room and enter the bathroom. I look at my face in the mirror while I see my eye change color. 'Again....' I thought while I rubbed my eye to bring back my normal eye. "I really hope. It is just a dream..... Just a dream." All I could think about was that dream. I hoped and wished every god alive that it just remains a dream..
I hear a knock. "Boruto, may I come in?" 'It's mom.' "Come in, mom," I say while I come outside my washroom while rubbing my face with a towel.I keep the towel spread on a chair for it to dry. Mom comes in while I sit on my bed. My mom sits on the chair that she placed right in front of me. "Listen, Boruto, I know you are growing up into a teenager and all that stuff, where you might not want to even be near your parents or even share things with them." I knew where this was going. But I let her continue. "I am your mother, and I know there is something that you are not sharing with me. I really want to know what is making you unhappy." My mom holds my hand. "Please... I can't see you like this." Her face soften while saying so.
"Nothing is wrong, mom. It's just that everything is new to me. We are no longer just students. In a day, everything changed. I..... I am scared. I don't know why, but my heart seems to be heavy.... very heavy. As if... as if something wrong is going to happen... something very wrong." I keep my hand on my chest while I speak.
Even though what I said was not wrong but not entirely true.... I knew she would understand what I told her just now after all she had gone through. "This is normal, Boruto. These changes are completely fine; after all, being a teenager is not easy at all. You might also feel different kinds of things for a friend. Our body changes, just as our mind does. We become attracted to things we never thought we would ever be attracted to. If this is the reason for your silence and unhappy face, then it's completely normal." Mom smiled and got up. "Now hurry up and come downstairs for dinner."
I came downstairs and saw my dad sitting next to Hima. "When did you come home?" I asked him. "Well, right after you left for your room." "Oh..." I spoke while I sat in my designated seat. "How was your test?" Dad asks me. "It was good. We passed. We all met together and already discussed the plan on how to defeat him yesterday." "Oh, so you knew what this all was about?" "..... Teamwork...." I spoke while nodding my head.
Dad laughed a little. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "Oh... nothing. I just remembered my first bell test." "How was your bell test?" "Well, initially, we all failed." My eyes came out of their sockets. "Why???" "Well, we could not interpret the meaning of the test. So we had failed. But after that, Kakashi-sensei decided to pass us." He shrugged his shoulders while saying so. "So... you mean to say that you did not get what the test was about before he explained it to you?" He nods his head. "For us, it was a competition."
"Well.... stop talking and finish your food already." Mom interferes in our conversation. We all ate. "Good night, everyone." I say goodbye and leave the table. I wash my plate and go to my room.
3rd POV
Naruto and Hinata look at each other and ask, "Did he mention something?" "He did... but I don't think it's completely true...." They both sigh. "Even Sakura thinks something is wrong with him. Yesterday, when he was at their place, he zoned out a lot. Sarada, as well, thinks the same, and I think today she even confronted him about it." "Hinata, I think something is really wrong. Every morning, he is the same. Even now, he was zoning out. Maybe I should talk to him."
"I don't know if he will open up to you. When he did not open up with me. There is no way he will open up to anyone, including you." "Maybe we should talk to Ino. She can take a peek inside his memories and see what is wrong. Ever since he said that he awakened the Byakugan, he has been acting like that. " Their conversations are heard by their daughter, who walks up to them. "Mom, dad. Are you both worried about big brother?" she asks them while thinking about something.
"Hima.... do you think Boruto mentioned anything to you?" Naruto asks Hima. "I do remember my brother saying, 'That was such a realistic dream' once." Hima says this while looking at both of her parents.
"A dream, huh??" Naruto thinks a little. "Maybe it's the dream that's troubling him?" Hinata points it out. "Hima, go to sleep now. It's getting late." "Good night, mom and dad." "Good night, Hima."
"Hinata, we will talk about this with him tomorrow. I'll have Team 7 in my cabin tomorrow and question all of them." Naruto gives a solution. "No... just Sarada. Talk to her." Hinata says this while still thinking about what Himawari spoke about.
